The King Edward Hotel’s traditional tea is a feast, starting with an amuse bouche, finger sandwiches including 5 spice citrus chicken and lemon dill egg with asparagus, and a generous amount of pastries, including a strawberry rhubarb fool tart and chocolate Battenburg cake.
Make sure you save room for the two scones offered (classic and candied ginger). The service at King Edward is incredibly attentive, the staff know their tea and are happy make a recommendation. But if you’re unable to choose, you can’t go wrong with the King Edward blend (created specially for the hotel) of floral Jasmine and Ceylon blended with Yunnan and finished with rose petals. You can add a glass of sparkling wine or take a more traditional route with a glass of sherry.
